A Homeless Coalition Serving Florida's Okaloosa & Walton Counties
Okaloosa Coalition on the Homeless, Inc. participates in homeless assistance under the Okaloosa Walton Homeless Continuum of Care, which brings together local groups to work towards ending homelessness through a public-private partnership.
Opportunity, Inc. is the lead agency in the Continuum, serving as an umbrella organization for all Continuum of Care agencies. Participants range from shelters, food banks, substance abuse and mental health centers to first responders such as the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
The Okaloosa Coalition on the Homeless provides temporary housing for single women and families looking to start anew. Our mission is to address the homelessness in our community, providing the homeless with help in their time of need so that in time they are better able to support themselves and their families. As a consequence of our clients' increased self-sufficiency, we aim to alleviate homelessness in our community.
